Effects of Nutrition on Reproduction in Dairy Cattle Nutritional status and nutritional management are essential components of overall herd management. The Prim ary conditions of malnutrition affecting reproduction include clinical deficiency and excessive intake of a particular nutrient. Secondary conditions comprise those in which other constraints result in a nutritional imbalance. Therefore, a suboptimal plane of nutrition can result in impaired reproductive performance. The average daily production of milk in Pakistan is estimated at approximately 95 million liters. Punjab is the leading province in milk production with a share of around 80%. Out of the total production of 95 million liters of milk per day, about 55% is consumed at source in the countryside while the remaining 45% is traded in urban centers. Most of the traded milk is marketed un-processed and currently, only about 2.5 to 3 percent of the traded milk is processed by the dairy industry in Pakistan.
