Teat stenosis (Hard milker)

 Teat stenosis in goats is a condition where the teat canal or papillary duct becomes narrowed or blocked, leading to difficulties with milk release ¹. It can be caused by:


- Teat injuries or trauma

- Inflammation and fibrosis

- Congenital defects


Signs include:


- Swollen or painful teats

- Difficulty milking or milk release

- Incomplete milk outflow



Treatment options include:


- Surgical correction

- Teat dilators or instruments to widen the teat canal

- Antibiotics for secondary infections

- Pain management
